| Many unreached people groups exist in a remote area of southern Mexico, called the Mixteca. This is the northwest part of Oaxaca that is largely unevangelized. It is a unique sector in that so many people groups are represented in such a neglected geographical area. The Mixteco people have 55 known languages that they speak. They are considered the least reached of all the 155 tribal groups. They have been isolated physically and bound spiritually. This is quickly seen in their reluctance to accept new ideas or outsiders. Living in remote areas they are mainly subsistent farmers who grow corn and beans. Their diet consists of tortillas with rice and beans. |
